We are pleased to introduce you to the 2026 cohort of Momentum Summer Associates! Our staff size has doubled overnight and we are so thrilled to have a growing team! It's important to note that while we value the capacity support that our Summer Associate program provides Momentum, we also strongly believe that we have a responsibility to invest in the growth and development of the next generation of conservationists. We aim to provide a supportive and hands-on learning environment for our Summer Associates.
Landen Jorgensen is a rising senior at the University of Southern Maine, often found rock climbing and dancing in the evenings. He is excited to keep working on the Technical Assistance program and building lasting change in community organizations. Landen joined us through placement this spring with UMaine's MEIF program, and we are grateful that the funding could continue into the summer. Maia and Cece joined us a few weeks ago and have fit right in to our nimble team! Cece Blackwell-Moore is a rising sophomore at Bates College. She can be found adventuring around northern Maine, frolicking in some natural wonderland. At Momentum, she finds herself consistently inspired by community relationships to land and the history of injustice in land conservation. Maia Kane is a rising senior at Colby College and recently returned from a semester abroad in Edinburgh, Scotland. She is excited to learn from the Momentum team about the ever-changing field of conservation in Maine!
We hope you have the opportunity to connect with these three amazing Momentum teammates!
